Delicate Earlobes was borne out of a Tiffany’s salesman selling us a pair of their diamond earrings for my birthday one year.
For a while now life has been rather busy, which meant I have not been able to update my blog for a while. That and somewhat a loss of enthusiasm for sitting down and writing about my day-to-day challenges.
But since my last entry, I have thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with Delicate Earlobes.
Since this blog originated with jewellery, I thought it apt that I start to include information regarding jewellery.
During this past month I have been on a jewellery design workshop and a beading workshop, just to whet my appetite I thought…just to see if I have any passion or interest in it.
In all honesty, the design workshop did nothing to ignite my interest. But a few days later, I took part in the beginners beading and I’ve been hooked ever since!
Since then, I’ve spent a small fortune on tools, beads and beading strings and wire.
I am still at the practising stage, so am not yet willing to spend an even greater fortune on sterling silver wire, findings etc.
But here are samples of what we made on the day.
We began by making bracelets which were made with a selection of glass beads threaded through Memory Wire, which is said to keep its shape and saves you with having to grapple with toggles or clasps.
Needless to say Prancer lay claim to the pink bracelet, but being the girly girl that she is, she was not so sure about wearing the green and blue bracelet.
